Guide to the Museum
The KTC “MONOZUKURI” Museum is a place where you can experience KTC’s “spirit of manufacturing,” it’s commitment to creating excellent products.
It is a place for interacting with customers face to face, and sharing the wonder of creating things. We want to continue delivering high-quality products and further evolve our tools with this spirit.
Floor plan

Showroom

The first floor showroom
On the ground level, there is an open showroom with the largest display of tools in Japan, displaying around 3,000 different tools, from top-quality Nepros tools, to conventional and specialized tools.
You can also get a hands-on feel of how to use the KTC tools by experiencing the training pit for car maintenance, or actually handling the tools in the Tool CafeŽ.
On the first level, there is a DIY (Do It Yourself) room that serves as a display space to show the enjoyment of making things in your garage and making things using tools. We also simulate a product display for storefront.
The space facing the open showroom is a display showing KTC’s 50 years of history through the changes in tools and pamphlets, from when it was founded to the present day.

Rooftop Garden

Rooftop Garden
As a manufacturer, KTC places high importance on addressing environmental issues through its operation, such as saving energy and resources, and minimizing wastes. The museum itself was built incorporating energy-saving features, such as using an eco-ice system for cooling, which equates to an energy reduction equivalent to planting 1,200 trees. Also by creating a rooftop garden, energy consumed by air-conditioners in the second level saves 2 to 3 degrees in summer.
We support the governmental stance in attempting to reduce the heat island effect in the city. In order to raise the awareness of our employees and others about environmental problems, we took this as an opportunity to promote KTC’s attitude toward environmental problems and created Kyoto’s first rooftop garden. The rooftop garden is not only a green space, but also serves as the building’s third floor where employees can relax, and by talking to the customers, we hope to cultivate their awareness about the environment.
