All about KTC

KTC’s manufacturing philosophy was formed in the1930’s when the company produced tools to maintain the “Zero” fighter planes.

The original mission of producing only tools of the highest quality for the maintenance of aircraft was passed on from the three founders of KTC to the next generations of craftsmen alongside an insatiable curiosity for technical innovation and quest for perfection.

This enthusiasm for manufacturing tools is inherited through the company’s motto “Design and manufacture light, strong, and highly functional tools”.

The company currently produces tools used to service F1 race cars, also known as the “ground fighter plane”.

In April 2003, 50 years after it was established, the company opened a “"MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM” in recognition of its endeavours to produce the world’s best quality tools and as a place for information exchange.

Through this “"MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM”, we want to communicate to each visitor the beauty of manufacturing. Furthermore, through the careful manufacturing of genuine tools, we also hope to continue providing our customers with increasingly advanced tools.

"MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM

In April 2003, the company inaugurated the "MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM, a place of intercommunication with visitors, where information can be exchanged. It is a place designed to enable visitors to experience KTC’s “Manufacturing” spirit.

On the first floor, visitors will find a vaulted ceiling show room featuring around 3,000 tools of "NEPROS" and "KTC" brand conventional and specialized tools. Visitors can enjoy a hands-on experience servicing cars in a training pit or touch and feel the tools in the sensory corner “Tool Cafe”and have firsthand knowledge of KTC’s finely attuned tools.

On the second floor, visitors will discover DIY rooms devoted to communicating how much fun it can be to use the tools, by presenting simulations of product showcases found in home centres etc., as well as garaging situations.

Tools produced since the company was first established, are displayed across the vaulted ceiling showroom enabling visitors to discover KTC’s 50 years of history.

The "MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM boasts the first rooftop garden in Kyoto built to raise awareness of environmental problems and the “heat-island” phenomenon. The rooftop is considered as the 4th floor where employees can recuperate or as a place where they can interact with visitors.

The "MONOZUKURI" MUSEUM can be visited, free of charge by appointment.
